Although Brazil’s politicians have been amongst the most reluctant to introduce stringent controls on society as coronavirus spreads into South America, Flavio and his partners took the decision to protect their staff and sent everyone home two weeks ahead of government intervention. So how’s working from home working out? Doesn’t look too bad.

How long have you been working from home?
We closed our office before the ‘new normal’ style of work began, two weeks before official quarantine. We look out for our people. We are only 25 in our shop.

How do you separate work life from home life?
It is a new normal for all people here. We are five in my home. Luciana, Debora, Rebeca, Toy (shih tzu) and Moses (shih tzu). All of us are learning and adopting new habits: exercises, cleaning, reading, watching. In these weeks it has been fun.

Do you break for lunch?
I am alternating tasks. Calls in the morning and concentrating for the rest of the day. Food is a problem. I practise a 16-hour intermittent fasting, now for two years, and this helps me to control. I love coffee without sugar.

How do you manage teams from home?
Trello, Slack and WhatsApp. Easy and fast!

How do clients respond to the new way of working?
Normally, I think. Maybe in one month it could be difficult, but now it is fine. My team in home office made some home runs.

Do you have a favourite track when working at home?
The Chemical Brothers, Glastonbury Live 2019. The beats help me think in a good frequency.
