Entry Notes: The new advert for the “SCHAU HIN!” initiative:
“Cyber-grooming – protect your child from online abuse!”

This film will send shivers down your spine – and that’s exactly the idea, because it’s about a very serious topic.
Cyber-grooming almost always follows the same pattern: The offenders contact their victims, who are usually minors, on popular online platforms; they gain their trust before ultimately subjecting them to sexual abuse.
The aim of the new advert is to raise awareness amongst parents, so that they can protect their children from online abuse by discussing the issue with them and making them aware of the dangers of messenger services.
“SCHAU HIN!” is an initiative run by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth in cooperation with the health insurance provider AOK and the two public broadcasters Das Erste and ZDF.
