Notes: Since opening its doors in 1962 St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have saved countless lives and helped improve the survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to 80%, and they’ve done so exclusively funded by donations, meaning that the families never have to pay a cent.

And every day they witness extraordinary bravery by kids battling for their lives.

So, to raise awareness and help St. Jude bring in donations we created something that was only possible in VR – The St Jude Hall of Heroes – a collection of 60 feet tall statues and a virtual monument to the inspiring strength of its young patients.

Each unique statue represents a story, a battle, a team, and at the center a young patient who never gave up. Visitors can navigate freely in the hall, interact with our heroes and hear their stories narrated by those closest to them.

A Facebook campaign and an Instagram AR filter spread the word about our heroes and encouraged people to donate, and a partnership with Best Buy allowed people to try the headset experience at their Oculus Demo Stations.

The Hall of Heroes became publicly available for download on Oculus Headsets in February 2020.
