The Background:
Australia’s greenest power company, Powershop, is committed to helping Australians reduce their impact on the environment. With the climate crisis affecting everything from wildlife, to our way of life, Powershop wanted to inspire more people to take climate action.

The idea:
Pond Party – An interactive kids book about climate vulnerable animals that responds to household energy consumption via smart meter data. The better a family’s energy use is, the better the story becomes.

Via a PWA, kids and parents are tasked with helping ‘Goldie’ the climate vulnerable frog prepare for a party while receiving valuable energy saving lessons along the way. When they return to read the next day, Pond Party responds to whether their energy use has improved or not.

The impact:
-Pond Party has helped inspire thousands of families to reconsider how they use energy, with user sessions during launch 60% above target.
-Over 2.5million people were reached with the supporting campaign.
-Contributed to 57% YOY sales growth for Powershop
