Notes: Every creative agency and brand wants to believe they can do real-time advertising, yet few succeed. We knew that associating our brand, Volkswagen, with the Game of Thrones phenomenon was going to be no mean feat - and rather than ride the wave of ‘Winter is coming’ as a pre-build up to the launch of the 8th series, merely blending in with the thousands of brands doing the same, we wanted to do it differently. To make the challenge even bigger, we had to grab the attention of our audience during one of the most campaign-heavy times of the year in the Middle East on Social; Ramadan, when competition on the newsfeed is always at an all-time high. Snack-able, memorable and meme-able content, created within an unparalleled turnaround time, left our audience hungry for more and coming back to the brand week after week, driving the highest social virality rate we’ve ever seen for Volkswagen.
