Adrian Franks
UX Creative Director
IBM
Adrian is the UX creative director at iX, the experience design division of IBM Global Business Services. He is also a designer, painter and 'big concept thinker'. Creativity has fuelled him through a 20-year career in design, advertising and the arts. He started in Atlanta as a designer and art director for ad agencies but when the internet boom of the 90s and the emerging digital media landscape caught his eye, he pivoted to a digital agency and began developing websites, banners, and other digital components. Since those pioneering days, his experience in digital and interactive design and strategy has grown dramatically. Clients of his work include major brands, such as Toyota, Coca-Cola, AT&T, Walmart, Bank of America, Citi Bank, Chrysler, Ford, and multiple branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, among others. Adrian is versed in wearable technology––he created one of the Apple Watch’s first apps––and has extensive design experience for FinTech. Recently, he expanded into design for film as well as film-related merchandising and product design. Collaborations with Spike Lee resulted in work for films like Chiraq, Michael Jackson: From Motown to Off the Wall, and the ESPN documentary Two Fists Up.
